Event Registration

Attending the TNGIC Fall Forum is free but you do need to register to receive the Zoom details. Log in to your TNGIC account and register here.

The registration deadline is Friday October 29, 2021.

Keynote Speakers

Dr. Steven Ward & John Nelson

Dr. Steven Ward from ORNL

Dr. Steven Ward, ORNL

Dr. Ward is a Bayer Scientific Fellow with over 22 years of experience in geospatial technology integration for a broad range of private and  government clients. He is currently the Section Head of Geospatial Data Science within the National Security Sciences Directorate at Oak Ridge National Lab with research teams that focus on the exploitation of spatial data and assets using autonomous systems, artificial intelligence and remote sensing in scaled computational environments. His experience intersects the oil & gas, environmental, hazards & disasters, agriculture, and defense/intelligence disciplines. Anchored by a sound understanding of fundamental data science and AI/ML methods coupled with scaled computation and degrees in environmental chemistry, agronomy and geography from Louisiana State University; Dr. Ward has successfully managed teams of up to 80+ interdisciplinary staff for organizations ranging from Silicon Valley Start Ups to Fortune 500 companies throughout his career.

John Nelson with ESRI

John Nelson, ESRI

John Nelson is a map maker, software experience designer, and writer at Esri creating fringe geographic data, curious web experiences, moderately-educational blogs, and mildly-instructional videos. He works in a small woodshed in Michigan and relishes the opportunity to chat with other map folks.

Virtual Map Gallery

Share your work with the geospatial community of Tennessee. We are looking for both static and interactive maps in our virtual map gallery.

  • Map gallery details and submission details.
    • Submit your static map, interactive map, dashboard, story map, etc using the link below.
    • You will need to upload a static image for your submission, even if the submission is interactive. Maximum file size is 10 MB. No .zip or .pdf.
    • Interactive maps will also need a public facing URL.
    • Each submission may have up to 4 authors.
    • Each submission will be publicly visible in the map gallery.
  • Award Categories (Click on a category for judging criteria - coming soon)
    • Static
      • Best thematic map
      • Best reference map
    • Interactive
      • Best narrative or story map
      • Best dashboard
      • Best web app
    • All maps, static or interactive, are eligible for the following awards:
      • Best student map
      • Most innovative map
      • Best analysis

  • Map Gallery submission deadline is October 25th, 2021.
  • Non-Sponsor U.S. Participants will receive a $20.00 gift card!!!!
